Q: What is NICET? A: NICET (the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) is a not-for-profit organization created by the National Society of Professional Engineers to serve the certification needs of the engineering technology community.

Q: Do I have to pass all NICET basic elements before I receive a level II or III subfield certification? A: No. You only need to pass the elements required by your program.
Q: I have passed most NICET elements and am only interested in a few more, can I purchase a limited number of elements? A: Yes, For customized solutions, contact us directly via phone or e-mail to sales@firetech.com.
Q: Do I need to order a workbook with a CD package? A: No, one workbook accompanies each CD package. However, you should allow one workbook for each person using the program.
Q: Do you provide on-site training? A: On-Site training is available. Please call or email for a quote.
Q: Can I take my workbook into the NICET exam? A: As of late fall 2007, NICET released new guidelines on material allowed into the test centers. At this time, our workbooks are not allowed into the exams. It is more important than ever to review the standards, listen to the audios and work in the workbooks so that you can be prepared when it comes to test time.

Q: What is a webinar? A: Short for Web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation that is transmitted over the Web. Fire Tech Productions webinars are interactive between students and instructor. Q: Will the state course help me pass the test? A: Just like in school, our courses help students learn and prepare for testing. The NICET training programs have been used successfully for 20 years. The Ohio Automatic Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems Certification readiness course has been taught successfully and passed by both students working in the sprinkler industry and students not yet exposed to the sprinkler industry.
Q: Can I receive CEU credits for your Introduction to Sprinklers course? A: Yes. If you need us to submit the course to a specific agency for you, just let us know.
Q: How long does the On-line training last? A: Once you enroll in an online course, you have 30 days before expiration. We recommend you spend at least 6 - 8 hours reviewing the course and answering the sample test questions.
Q: I learn better in a classroom environment, do you offer that? A: The webinars included in the course provide live training with our certified instructor.
Q: How long does the state test take? A: You are given 2 hours to complete your exam.
Q: How much does it cost to take the state test? A: The test fee for the Sprinkler Installer Certification in Ohio is $50.00. This fee allows you to take the test twice. This certification needs to be renewed yearly for a fee of $40.00.
