Q: What is NICET? A: NICET (the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) is a not-for-profit organization created by the National Society of Professional Engineers to serve the certification needs of the engineering technology community.
Q: I'm just starting the NICET process. Where do I start? A: We are currently offering a FREE webinar to help acquaint candidates with NICET. You can SIGN UP here. We also offer a detailed online Intro to NICET course. See our online course site to signup. To research more about NICET, visit their web site at: www.nicet.org. Q: Do I have to pass all NICET basic elements before I receive a level II or III subfield certification? A: Reference the Program Detail Manual for your subfield and/or contact NICET. Program Detail Manuals
Q: I have passed most NICET elements and am only interested in a few more, can I purchase a limited number of elements? A: Yes, For customized solutions, contact us directly via phone or e-mail to sales@firetech.com. We also offer online training for many individual NICET elements. Q: Do I need to order a study notebook with a CD package? A: No, study notebooks accompany the CD packages. However, you should allow one notebook set for each person using the program.
Q: Do you provide on-site training? A: On-Site training is available. Please call or email for a quote.
Q: Can I take my Fire Tech Reference Text into the NICET exam? A: All of our texts have been developed following the new NICET guidelines for reference material allowed into the exam. Engineering Basics is on NICET's list of approved material and the remainder of our texts have been submitted for approval.
Q: What is a webinar? A: Short for Web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation that is transmitted over the Web. Fire Tech Productions webinars are interactive between students and instructor. You enjoy the benefits of live discussion and teaching from the comfort of your home or office. No travel expenses to worry about!
Q: Will the state course help me pass the test? A: Just like in school, our courses help students learn and prepare for testing. The Ohio Automatic Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems Certification readiness course has been taught successfully and passed by both students working in the sprinkler industry and students not yet exposed to the sprinkler industry.
Q: Can I receive CEU/CPD credits for your courses? A: You may be able to. To find out if you can claim NICET CPD points for a course, please review Section II.B of NICET's Recertification Policy. If you need us to submit the course to a specific agency for you, just let us know.
