Every organization with NICET candidates in Automatic Sprinklers, Fire Alarms, Inspection & Testing or Special Hazards would benefit from Fire Tech's training and we have provided the right tools with the most complete information to ensure candidates succeed in their certification goals!

In 1988 Fire Tech Productions (FTP) was founded with the mission of providing fire protection training. The first program developed by Fire Tech Productions was called NICET Basic. The NICET Basic program included subjects such as physical science, intermediate math, basic metric units and NFPA standards. It covered non-specific fire related elements that could be carried over (crossover) to other fire sub-fields. Fire Tech recognized the need to make training materials available nationally so they developed a portable audiocassette and study notebook program. This material included insight on the NICET examination setting as well as generic suggestions and hints on how to maximize success levels when taking a NICET exam.

To keep pace with the growing demand for NICET certification, FTP soon followed the NICET Basic program with complete programs in the three primary NICET testing subfields, namely: Automatic Sprinkler System Design Training, Special Hazards Systems Training and Fire Alarm Systems Training. What made these programs different from other approaches was the fact that they did not regurgitate the NFPA standards and other key reference material in a general manner. Each work element in each of the subfields was addressed as a separate entity. The math work elements solved real problems having levels of difficulty similar to those that the candidate could expect to find on the NICET exam. Customers were able to focus their exam preparation by referring to the recorded discussion covering the work elements they had chosen for their unique exam.

In May of 2007, Fire Tech Productions was purchased by Dave Craynon, a 41 year fire protection professional and Lisa Salzman who contributes 25 years of training and IT experience. The new owners’ primary objective was to modernize the training materials by converting the audiocassettes to CDs, developing new text books based upon current NFPA standards, introducing on-line training, and delivering element specific webinars. A continuing objective is to provide materials that reflect current standards and certification requirements. The new texts are now being marketed and used by several College level programs.

"I passed my Level III N.I.C.E.T for Layout and Design, Paying for the online test and study guides for all the elements I was testing on was 110% worth the money. One thing I know about anything you do in life is you have to be prepared and Fire Tech definitively prepared me for N.I.C.E.T."
